Create a table in the text editor

1. Click .

   The Insert/Modify Table dialog box is displayed.

2. Enter the number of Cols (columns) and Rows you want in the table.
3. (Optional) Specify the following:

   Cellpadding: Enter the amount of cell padding in pixels. Cell padding is the amount of space between the column divider and the first character of text in a cell. Show me an example of cell padding.

   This table has Cellpadding set to 5 and no Cellspacing.
   

   Cellspacing: Enter the amount of cell spacing in pixels. Cell spacing is the amount of extra space around cells. Show me an example of cell spacing.

   This table has Cellpadding set to 5 and Cellspacing set to 8.
   
   

   Alignment: Select an option to Center, Left, or Right align the table in your document.

   Border: Enter the width, in pixels, of the border you want for the table.

   Width and Height: Enter the table's width and height in pixels. (Another option is to create the table, then drag a side of the table to change its width or height.)

   Table Caption: Select this option to create a space above the table where you can enter a caption or title for the table.

4. Click Insert to create the table.

As you enter the table text, the columns adjust to the amount of text in each cell without changing the table width.

This procedure applies only if you selected Table Caption when creating or modifying the table.

1. Click directly above the table.
2. Type the caption.

You can select the caption and change its text formatting as you would other text in your document.

1. Create the initial table.
2. Right-click the table cell where you want to embed another table and select Inserts a new table
3. Complete the entries in the Insert/Modify Table dialog box (described above) and click Insert.
