Modify table properties in the text editor

There are two ways to resize a table.

• Click and drag:
  1. Click anywhere in the table to select it.
  2. Drag a selection handle to change the table's width or height.
• Set a specific size in pixels:
  1. Right-click the table and select Table properties.
  2. Enter the Width and/or Height in pixels.
  3. Click the Update button.

1. Right-click the table and select Table properties.
2. Change the following settings as needed.

   Cellpadding: Enter the amount of cell padding in pixels. Cell padding is the amount of space between the column divider and the first character of text in a cell. Show me an example of cell padding.

   This table has Cellpadding set to 5 and no Cellspacing.
   

   Cellspacing: Enter the amount of cell spacing in pixels. Cell spacing is the amount of extra space around cells. Show me an example of cell spacing.

   This table has Cellpadding set to 5 and Cellspacing set to 8.
   

   Alignment: Select an option to Center, Left, or Right align the table in your document.

   Border: Enter the width, in pixels, of the border you want for the table.

   Table Caption: Select this option to create a space above the table where you can enter a caption or title for the table.

3. Click the Update button.
