Step 1: Choose Your Master Course

When creating a course, you choose whether to create a generic course or a course for a specific text or eText. It is important to select the exact product (text, eText, or generic) that your students have access to. Students cannot join your course if you base it on a product that is does not match the access code they enter when registering for the course. If you are using a Pearson (Longman or PH) handbook, the students' access code is specific to the title of the handbook or eText. Otherwise, you are most likely using the generic course. If you are not sure, contact your Pearson Sales Representative.

The following procedures describe how to search for a text-specific or eText course or for a generic course.

To search for a text-specific or eText course:

There are two ways to find the course. One is to click the View all book-specific courses link and then select the course. However, this results in a very long list. The other method is to use Search, as described in these steps.

To create a generic course:

  1. Click the View all generic courses link.
  2. Select the generic course and click the Continue button.
