Study Plan: Reading Level Properties

You can edit the Study Plan and set the default reading-level properties. These properties are on the Study Plan Properties page.

To assess students' reading levels as well as their reading skills, select Yes for Use Reading Level Content. The MyLab then requires students to take the Reading Level Locator Test to define their Lexile Framework® reading level (from 400 to 1490). Once the level is defined, the MyLab selects Study Plan exercises aimed at helping each student increase his or her reading level. Selecting Yes for Use Reading Level Content helps you gauge student progress.

When you select Yes for Use Reading Level Content, you also have the option of creating a Lexile Locator Password that students must enter in order to take the Reading Level Locator Test.

Also specify whether you want to Manually Grade Short Answer Questions (where students type their responses to questions in a text box). If you select Yes, you must grade these answers before a student can continue to the next exercise set.
