Other Resources
The Other Resources block on the Home
page has links that can further enhance your reading skills
and comprehension.
- My Instructor's Files: If your instructor has posted files for all students in the class, the files appear in a list under My Instructor's Files. Click a file link to open the file.
- eText: If you are in a course that is based on an eText, you can click this link to open the eText in a separate window. (If you are in a text or generic course, this option is not displayed.)
- Flash Cards: This Vocabulary Development tool uses flash cards to help you build your vocabulary with definitions, antonyms, homonyms, prefixes, and roots. You can view cards by word, then flip a card to see the word's definition. You can review words at a fundamental, intermediate, or advanced level and test yourself with quizzes and speed drills.
- Study Skills Website:
This website provides resources that help you get the most out of your
classes. The list of topics ranges from college success strategies and
communication in the classroom to managing stress and critical thinking.
- Research Tools (MySearchLab): The Pearson MySearchLab™ provides you with extensive help on the research process and four databases of reliable source material. MySearchLab helps you make the most of your research time by giving you access to the Greenbook writing space; a bibliography builder; tutorials and videos on writing, conducting research, and avoiding plagiarism; a comprehensive grammar guide; and an online handbook.
