Edit a Writing Practice Exercise's Properties

You can override the Study Plan properties for a Writing Practice exercise. For example, you can change the writing traits you want students to receive feedback on or the number of times they can submit the exercise for automated feedback.

To edit the properties of a Writing Practice exercise:

1. Click the Study Plan tab.
2. Click Edit Study Plan and Set Due Dates.
3. Click the Writing Practice tab.
4. Click the Set Properties button for the exercise you want to edit.
5. Modify the following settings as needed:

   Select/Deselect All: Select this option to select all the listed Writing Prompts; remove the check mark to deselect all the Writing Prompts.

   Writing Prompt: Use this check box to select or deselect specific writing prompts. The Study Plan displays all selected Writing Prompts to your students (assuming the exercise is not hidden).

   Autograded Drafts Available: Select the number of times students can submit this exercise for automated feedback.

   Feedback Category | Feedback Visible?: Select or deselect the writing traits for which you want students to receive feedback for this Writing Prompt.

   Feedback Section | Feedback Visible?: Select or deselect the feedback sections that you want displayed in students' feedback reports for this exercise.

   The Subtype and Scoring Description are informational only; they are not editable.

6. (Optional) Click the Restore to Global Settings button to reset the settings to the global Study Plan properties.
7. Click the Save Changes button to save your edits.
