Write Exercises

Generally, you begin work on a topic's Write exercise after working through the Recall and Apply exercises. (See Writing Skills Topics for more information.)

Note: Your instructor determines whether or not you have access to the Write exercises.

A topic's Write exercise is an exchange of drafts between you and the instructor. You write a draft and submit it to the instructor. The instructor reviews the draft, provides feedback and comments, and a temporary grade. You then review the comments, revise the draft and submit it again. This cycle continues until either the instructor gives you a final grade or you exhaust the maximum number of drafts allowed. (The instructor sets the maximum number of drafts allowed.)

For some topics, the Write exercise requires that you rewrite an existing paragraph. For other topics, you first select a statement or question as your topic and then write a paragraph or short essay about that topic.

Regardless of the type of Writing exercise you are working on, note the following as you work:

The MyLab records your grade in the Gradebook's Student Details report.
