Use this procedure to complete a Writing Practice exercise and submit it for automated feedback. Your submission can be a maximum of 1200 words.
Your instructor determines the number of times you can submit an exercise for automated feedback. The MyLab tracks your submissions and displays the number you have left on the exercise page. Your instructor may have set up the course so you can also submit these exercises to the instructor. When this is the case, the Submit to Instructor button is displayed on the exercise page.
To complete and submit an exercise for automated feedback:
If the Writing Practice tab is not displayed, the course does not include the Writing Practice exercises, which are the only exercises you can submit for automated feedback.
The MyLab displays the exercise page where you write the essay. The bottom of the page displays the number of Submissions remaining for automated feedback for this exercise. When your instructor is accepting submissions of Writing Practice exercises, this page also displays the Submit to Instructor button.
It may take a moment or two before the feedback is displayed.
The MyLab saves the feedback in the exercise's draft history and records the score in your Gradebook. If you submit this exercise again for automated or instructor feedback, the newer score overwrites the previous score in the Gradebook.
Tip: You can click the Submit to Instructor button on the exercise page when you are ready to submit the essay to your instructor. (If this button is not displayed, your instructor is not accepting submissions of Writing Practice exercises.) See Flow of Drafts Between You and the Instructor for more information.
