Review simulation submissions

Updated 19 Feb 2024

You can review information about a simulation and how one or all students completed it in the View Submissions window.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Locate the simulation activity in the My Course list on the right side of the Course Materials > Add from Library page.
    • Locate the simulation activity on the Grades page.
  2. Click View Submissions on the simulation activity's options menu.
  3. In the Students list on the left, click the plus sign to the left of the name of the student whose submission you want to examine.
  4. Make a selection in the View list on the right to display all the student's answers, only incorrect answers, or only correct answers.
  5. Review the information presented in the submissions report, which has four columns:
    • Questions: Displays the name of the step, the application, the page number where the activity can be found in the textbook, and whether or not the student attempted the simulation.
    • Methods to Complete: Shows all the ways it's possible to complete the step. The first method listed is the one used in the textbook. If a method is collapsed, click the plus sign to the left of a method to see the details. To display this information to students or hide it from them, click Show All or Hide all, respectively.
    • Actions Taken: Displays exactly what a student did while completing the simulation. This clickstream data facilitates true defensible grading. To display this information to students or hide it from them, click Show Student Actions or Hide Student Actions, respectively.
    • Preview question in player: Displays the training scenario associated with the assessment when you click Launch Training.
  6. When you finish, click Save to review another student's submission or Save and Close to close the View Submissions window.

If a student made multiple attempts, you can see a report for each one by clicking the expand icon next to the student's name in the list on the left and then clicking each submission in turn.
