Create and edit eText links
Updated 19 Feb 2024
Use the Add eText Link option to create links to pages in eTexts available for your course. eText links give students direct access to the Pearson eText platform without requiring additional user credentials.
Notes
- The best way to add activities (create assignments) is with the Course Materials Wizard. To access the wizard, select Course Materials from the menu bar. This wizard lets you add assignments by taking you to the Course Materials Library, copy materials from another course using the Course Materials Library, and manage your content library. Refer to Using the Course Materials Wizard for more information.
- You can also add activities from the Course Materials Library and then move them to the My Course list where you can set appropriate scheduling. Use the Course Materials wizard to access the library.
- Another option is to add an activity to the My Course list. If you do that, you will be prompted to save the new activity to the Course Materials Library. In this case, navigate to and select the Course Materials Library folder where you want to save the activity and then click Add and Close.
Add eText links
-
Go to the Course Materials > Add from Library or Course Materials > Manage Course Materials page.
- Select Add eText Link.
- You can add one link at a time or add a series of links at once:
- To add one link, click Add a single link.
- In Link title, enter a title of up to 255 characters. When you finish adding the link, the title appears in the Course Materials list.
- In Select book, select the eText to which you want to link.
- In Enter page number, type the page number where you want the eText to open. If you do not enter a page number, the link opens the home page of the eText.
- Click Add.
- To add multiple links, click Add links to a range of pages.
- In Link Prefix, type a prefix for the link name. When you finish adding the set of links, the link prefix appears as the first part of each link name in the course materials list. For example you might want to number each link for easy reference.
- In Page Prefix, type text that you want to appear before the link page number. For example, you might want to include the due date for reading the linked material.
- In Select book, select the eText to which you want to link.
- In Start page and End page, enter the first and last page numbers, respectively, to which you want to link.
- Click Add.
A new eText link for each page you specified appears in the list.
- To add one link, click Add a single link.
