Updated 19 Feb 2024

The Map Learning Objectives page displays course materials on the left and learning objectives on the right. From this page, you can map course materials to learning objectives. For information on mapping questions to learning objectives, see Map learning objectives to questions.

Teaching assistants must have permission to create assets. Within a course, instructors give teaching assistants the ability to create or edit course materials on the Preferences > Permissions page.

  1. Click Course Materials > Additional Instructor Views > Map Learning Objectives.
  2. From the Course Materials Library on the left, select the course material asset(s) you want to align. Note that you must open folders to select assets in a folder.
  3. From the Learning Objectives list on the right, open the folder in which you want to add the material. To create new folders, see create learning objective folders.
  4. Click Add.

The selected materials are added to the open learning objectives folder. You can use the asset options menu to edit, remove, preview, print, view submissions, and control whether the asset is available (shown) or not available (hidden) to students. The options available depend on the type of asset you added.

You cannot create new assets in the Learning Objectives list. You must create new assets in the Course Materials Library before you can add them to a learning objectives folder.
