Using a profile to email quiz results

Note: This information applies to you if your grading software displays an E-mail Your Results form at the bottom of the Results page.

You can email quiz results to your instructor each time you take a quiz. You can automate how and where you send quiz results by creating a profile.

If a Profile button does not appear in the left navigation, then these instructions do not apply to you.

To create a profile:

  1. Click the Profile button at the bottom of the left-navigation list. The Profile window opens.
  2. Under Personal Information, type your name and email address in the boxes provided.
  3. Under Instructor Information, enter your instructor's name and email address and, optionally, the name and email address of other staff members who should receive your quiz results.
  4. Under Send quiz results to, click the box to the left of Instructor, as well as the boxes to the left of other staff members who should receive results.
  5. In the drop-down box next to each name you selected, click one of the following options to specify one of the following ways to send results to each recipient:
  • As plain text in the body of an email message
  • As HTML in the body of an email message
  • As a text attachment to an email message
  • As an HTML attachment to an email message

Note: HTML is preferable to text because the images that appear in your quiz results will appear in the HTML message. Also, text messages do not include the time you spent taking a quiz, which your instructor may want to know and which is included in HTML messages. Text messages are safer, however, because they can be read with any email program. Confirm with your instructor and others receiving your quiz results that they are able to read HTML messages before sending them.

  1. Click the Save Profile button.
