Customize the math palette
Updated 16 Jun 2023
The math palette is the rectangle containing buttons that appears next to the question-and-answer area in applicable questions. Students can click these buttons to input special mathematical formats such as built-up fractions or exponents:
When you create a custom question, you can choose which buttons to display on the math palette so that your students see only the buttons they need to complete the problem. They can see all the buttons by clicking the More button on the palette.
To customize the math palette for your custom question:
- Click Customize under the math palette in the Custom Question Builder. If the math palette is not displayed, click Tools > Customize Palette.
- The Edit Tool Palette window displays.
- Click an active button on the left side of the window to add it to the math palette. Click any grayed-out button to remove it from the math palette.
- Click OK to update the math palette for your custom question.
