Create a PDF of your completed assignment

Convert your Freehand Grader assignment work from paper to PDF using a scan app for your phone or tablet. Your scan app provides the latest instructions. Freehand Grader assignments appear in MyLab and Mastering.

The Genius Scan app lets you point your camera at documents to scan them and create a PDF. You can search online to choose another scanning app to create PDFs of your work. Some other Android scan-to-PDF apps

  1. Download the " " Genius Scan app and open it.
  2. Select the camera icon. To scan multiple pages, select the image icon (top right) to get into the mode for multiple scans to one document.
  3. Hold your phone or tablet above each assignment page and select the spinning circle, which tracks the number of pages you’ve scanned.

    It’s best to work on a flat surface with a dark background for the app to determine the edges of each page.

  4. When you finish scanning all assignment pages, select the check mark.
  5. Check the quality of your scan and make sure all of your pages are in a single document. If needed, redo the scan.
  6. Rename the document by selecting the file name.
  7. Select the document and select Share. Make sure the Format is set to PDF.
  8. Select Mail and send the PDF to yourself.
  9. Download the PDF from your email account so you can upload it to the Freehand Grader assignment in MyLab or Mastering.

The Scannable app by Evernote lets you point your camera at documents to scan them and create a PDF. You can also search online to choose another scanning app, like the " " Genius Scan app, to create PDFs of your work. Some other iOS scan-to-PDF apps

  1. Download the " " Evernote Scannable app and open it.
  2. Hold your phone or tablet above each assignment page with a border around the page. The app automatically scans each page to create a single PDF document.

    It’s best to work on a flat surface with a dark background for the app to determine the edges of each page.

  3. When you finish scanning all assignment pages, select the check mark.
  4. Check the quality of your scan and make sure all of your pages are in a single document. If needed, redo the scan.
  5. Rename the document by selecting its file name.
  6. Select Send.
  7. Select Mail and send the PDF to yourself.
  8. Download the PDF from your email account so you can upload it to the Freehand Grader assignment in MyLab or Mastering.
