Analyze results by question
Use Item Analysis to see how your class performed on each question in an assignment and export the data.
Analyze questions in assignments
- In your Gradebook, select Assignments under View Results By and choose which assignments to view.
- In the Class Average row of the table, select the IA (Item Analysis) icon for an assignment.
- On the Item Analysis page:
- For tests or quizzes, select the tab to see the Best Score, Most Recent Score, or All Attempts for each question.
- For homework, select the Analysis tab to see of results on each question or the Skill Builder tab (if available in your course) to see the objectives recommended by Skill Builder for each question.
For homework with Skill Builder, select the Skill Builder icon next to the question number to review their recommendations.
- Optionally select a question ID to view the question in the player.
- Optionally check the box under Score as Correct to give all students credit for a question.
- Select Export Data to save the results in a CSV file.
Choose a delimiter if needed.
- Optionally use the arrows on either side of the assignment name to go to the next or previous assignment.
Zero scores submitted by an instructor are not shown in the item analysis.
Analyze companion Study Plan questions
- In your Gradebook, select Study Plan under View Results By.
- Select Companion Study Plan(s).
- Select the IA (Item Analysis) icon beside the class average score.
Analyze Skill Builder recommendations
If Skill Builder is available in your course:
- In your Gradebook, select Assignments > Homework under View Results By.
- In the Class Average row of the table, select the IA (Item Analysis) icon for a homework with Skill Builder.
- On the Item Analysis page, select the Skill Builder tab or select the Skill Builder icon next to the question number.
You see the objectives that at least 10% of your class practiced. Percentages are calculated using the number of students recommended to practice an objective over the number of students who submitted the homework.
Objectives displayed in bold were not recommended.
- Optionally select the arrow next to the question ID to see the skill levels of the students who practiced the question.
