Create Collections
In order to assemble and deliver course materials to students, you need to create a Collection and add content to it.
What is a Collection?
A Collection is a set of course materials that you assemble for your unique course needs. These materials can be content you have selected from Pearson Collections or they can be content you've created and then uploaded. You can also mix uploaded content with Pearson Collection content in the same Collection.
Pre-built Collections with the very best content from Pearson and other sources are called Curated Collections. Often when creating a new Collection, it is easier to start with Curated Collections, selecting the content you want to use. For more information using Curated Collections, refer to Browse Curated Collections.
You can also create a Collection and add only the content that you create.

When you create a Collection, you choose a publishing format — either digital or print — which you cannot subsequently change. This means only digital resources will appear in published digital Collections and print resources will appear in published print Collections.
Since some materials are only available digitally for example, videos, while others are only available in print, you may want to browse Curated Collections or search for content before choosing a format. If resources are available in both formats, consider student learning preferences. If students may find a printed book helpful, refer to Publish a Collection as a Book to learn how the process works and how best to create a book from a Collection.
Another aspect to consider is the amount of content you plan to use. Print Collections are required to have at least 100 pages of content and are restricted to 1200 pages in a single volume. If you need fewer than 100 pages, create a digital Collection instead. If you require more pages than 1200 pages, a Pearson project specialist will contact you to discuss where to divide the material into two parts.
If you want to publish both a print and a digital Collection, then create a print Collection. When you publish it, you will be given the option to publish a digital version as well.
