Search all content

Searching is the quickest way to find specific content for the Collection you are building. You can search by entering a title, keyword, author name, or any combination of these.

For example, entering:

smith math

finds all content that has any of these entries (Smith or math) as part of the author's name or used in the content's title, description, or keywords.

You can also search by ISBN, by entering the entire number with or without dashes. Partial matches are not supported. For example, 978-1-4563377-7-3 or 9781456337773 for an ISBN 13 number.

As you enter a search string, Collections provides suggestions for you to help complete your entry. You can select one to display it in the search results. If you decide to ignore the suggestions, press Enter after providing one or more search terms to see results.

To add any search result item to a Collection, click the resource's check box and select Add x Resource(s) to a Collection. To preview the resource, click the resource's link.

Search results can also be displayed as a series of tiles (tile view ) or as a list of results (list view ). To set the view, select the option you want from the View menu.

Filter search results

To reduce the number of results displayed, you can filter them. Filters appear across the top of the search results and include books, chapters, cases, and readings. When you select one of these filters, additional filters appear on the left side of the screen as follows:

Filtering by... Displays...
Chapters and Books Discipline and subdiscipline filters
Cases Publisher, Industry, and Page Length filters
Readings Program Component, Theme, and
Page Length filters

Filtering by Cases or Books provides the following additional options:

  • Cases filtering lets you view each case's abstract.
  • Books filtering lets you view each book's ISBN and provides the View TOC button. This button shows all the chapters of the book and lets you add each chapter to your Collection. You can also click a book's title from the search results to view the contents of the book.

Sort Data

By default, search results are sorted by relevance, but you can also sort resources alphabetically, in ascending or descending order, by title or author last name, or numerically by copyright year.
