Upload resources
While Pearson Collections has many fine resources you can add to a Collection, there may be personal content that you have created and want to include. Or you may have found a really great piece of content on the Web that you want to use. Should either of these situations occur, you can upload the content to a Collection that you create.
Pearson Collections supports the following file types for uploading:
- PDF files (for textbooks, quizzes, handouts, slides, and lessons) up to 30MB
- Web image formats: GIF, JPG, PNG (for images and slides) up to 30MB
- Flash files in SWF and FLV format (for activities)
- URLs to websites or specific pages and content, such as videos, images, slides, quizzes, lessons, activities, and textbooks
Uploaded content is placed in an area called My Content, organized by folders. These folders are similar to Collection folders except that you can't create new ones or modify their names. To preview a resource after you upload it, click its title.

Uploaded content that you create and own is placed in the Original Content folder. All other uploaded content is placed in the Third Party Content folder.
When you upload content, Pearson Collections makes inquires about the copyright of the material. If you are the holder of the copyright, you can upload and use the content immediately once you supply the necessary information.
If you don't hold the copyright, Pearson can help you acquire it for a Collection. As part of that process, Pearson Collections examines available copyright records. If it finds a match, the resource is approved for immediate use. If no match is found, you have the option to submit the content to Pearson. When this is done, Pearson tries to acquire rights for the submitted content.
The cost shown is passed on to the students who purchase the Collection containing the resource. You pay nothing.
All uploaded content is assigned a default image based on the resource type you select. The image is displayed when you view the item in tile view.
When you upload content that you create, you have the option to share it with other instructors by applying a Creative Commons license to the course material. The license applies in perpetuity for the current version of the resources. For more information about Creative Common licensing, visit http://creativecommons.org/.
