Manage assignments from the Dashboard

The Class performance view of the Dashboard displays status information and assignments after your course begins. Below the course status bar, you'll see assignments you created.

From here, you can:

  • Select the Unpublished link for an undated and unpublished assignment .
  • Add a due date, then Publish.

    • or

  • Select Course setup arrow icon, then Publish all in the Assignment status section.

You'll see a message about adding assignment due dates if any are missing.

  1. Select an assignment's options menu then Edit assignment.
  2. Select the options menu for an assignment item—reading or assessment—you want to change. Menu choices depend on whether the assignment is published, students have started work, assessments are available, or the due date has passed.
  3. Select an option, then Save or Publish your changes.

  2. Select the options menu for an assigned reading or assessment, then View item details, such as which students viewed a reading and which found an assessment difficult to complete correctly.

You'll see a class average for the assessment as well as a breakdown of % correct and % incorrect for each assessment question.

Students see their individual scores on the Dashboard as they submit assessments, then see the total score on Scores after they submit all point-bearing assignment items.

  1. Select an assignment's options menu then Edit assignment.
  2. Select an assignment item's options menu, then Edit due date.
  3. Select another date and time on the calendar, then Next.
  4. Add a note for students if you want, then Save or Publish.

If you select a date and time with an existing assignment, the item is added to that assignment. If you select a date and time with no assignment, the item becomes a new assignment.

You can also extend a due date for an assignment or assignment item for individual students.

Change an assignment's due date even after students submit work or the due date passes.

  1. Select the calendar icon next to an assignment card.
  2. Select another date.
  3. Add a note for students if you want, then Save or Publish.
