Troubleshooting: Grade sync
Watch how to sync grades (1:06)
Try Sync now for a quick fix or check out these solutions.
- Manually sync all existing grades using Sync now.
Any edits you make to Revel grades, column names, or the overall (total score) column in the LMS gradebook might be overwritten to match Revel grades. To fix this, make your changes to the Revel gradebook and then Sync now. You can also download the LMS gradebook as a backup. See your LMS Help for instructions.
- For automatic grade sync, make sure the sync type, any assignments, and sync method are set.
- Make sure at least one student has access to Revel content and completes an assignment.
Blackboard: Check student registration status from the roster.
- You might need to remove any unsupported characters in names and settings: \ / " * < > + = | , % ! & : ? -. Confirm names don't exceed 128 characters.
Brightspace: Grades don't sync at all if assignment names contain unsupported characters.
- If you change your LMS password, refresh the browser page or re-enter the LMS course and agree to the authorization request. Otherwise, you might have missing assignment updates or other issues.
Make sure:
- You're the only one changing settings.
- Grade sync isn't running.
- You agree to any authorization requests.
Then refresh the page and try again.
Grades for students working on assignments show as In Progress from the Pearson Performance Dashboard. But there's a zero (0) in the Graded column and a Completed status in the Blackboard Grade Center.
When students finish assignments, manually sync grades using Sync now. Grades sync correctly with a Completed status in the Blackboard Grade Center.
After the student finishes all parts of the assignment, manually sync grades using Sync now.
If Accept grades from the tool is selected for multiple external tools in your Moodle course, the gradebook might have incorrect grades.
You or your system administrator need to check that Accept grades from the tool is selected for only one Revel and eText external tool.
