Use the math editor

To add math expressions to a question:

1. When creating or editing a question, select the math editor icon under the question or answer:

   

2. From the right side of the math editor, select the type of expression you want to add.
3. Select the icon for a math symbol or template to add it to the editor.
4. If a template requires values, enter the values in the editor.
5. Select Insert Expression at the bottom of the editor.

For example, to enter "2 1/2":

1. Select Arithmetic and choose the mixed number icon .
2. An empty template appears in the editor:

   

3. In the editor, enter 2, 1, and 2 in the appropriate boxes:

   

4. Select Insert Expression.
