Magnetism units

Units that support prefixes are shown in bold.

Note: Because Mastering doesn’t currently accept T*m^2 as an equivalent of V*s, it’s best NOT to require students to enter a unit in webers using the solutionNumberUnits answer type. Instead, use an alternate answer type, such as a multiple choice (solutionMultipleChoiceRadio/Dropdown or solutionMultipleSelect) or a numeric/symbolic expression (solutionSymbolic or solutionSymbolicSet).

henry

SI

H

Wb*A^(-1)

m^(2)*kg*s^(-2)*A^(-2)

H

Wb*A^(-1)

m^(2)*kg*s^(-2)*A^(-2)

Code inductance as H unless you specifically need Wb/A. Avoid using base units.

magnetic dipole

SI

A*m^2 A*m^2

tesla

SI

T

Wb*m^(-2)

kg*s^(-2)*A^(-1)

T

Wb*m^(-2)

kg*s^(-2)*A^(-1)

Code magnetic flux density as T unless you specifically need Wb/m^2. Avoid using base units.

weber

SI

Wb

V*s

m^(2)*kg*s^(-2) *A^(-1)

Wb

V*s

m^(2)*kg*s^(-2) *A^(-1)

Code magnetic flux as Wb unless you specifically need V*s. Avoid using base units.

Mastering doesn’t currently accept T*m^2 as an equivalent of V*s. See the note above this table for more details.
