Get your students started with Mastering (Direct integration)
Updated 19 Feb 2024
Course settings include the time zone for assignments (important for assignment due dates and times), optional Student ID, learning outcomes, and some display settings. For instructions, see Edit Mastering course settings.
Mastering content can include assignments, Scores (for students), the Pearson eTextbook, Study Area, and more. Some content like the Mastering Gradebook is not visible to students.
When students first select a link to Mastering content (anything other than the eTextbook) from your LMS, they’re asked to accept the user license and privacy agreement before the Mastering resource opens. After that, students can open any other Mastering content except for the Mastering eTextbook, which requires acceptance of its own user license and privacy agreement.
You don't need to give students a course ID or an invite link.
At the start of the semester:
- Explain what Mastering does and set student expectations.
- Make the grading process clear and discuss the Scores page with them.
- Go over how students can improve their grades.
(Students can see this information in the Mastering Student Help.)
For student enrollment or other administrative support issues for your LMS course, contact the course administrator at your school.
