Analyze results

You can use item analysis to report on class performance on each question in an assignment or on an individual student's performance. You can export the reports a CSV file.

- From the Manage Grades page, select Assignments > All Assignments.
- Select Show class metrics.
- Select the Item Analysis icon
next to the Class Average score.
- For a test or quiz, select the attempt you want to view.
- Optionally select Export Data and choose Export student details or Export class summary to download the data to a CSV file.
Export student details is not available for tests and quizzes when you are viewing all attempts.
For homework assignments that offer Skill Builder, select a question's Skill Builder icon next to its Question ID or select Skill Builder. You see how many students are struggling with the question, their average and median times spent, and their Skill Builder level.

You can report on how an individual student performed on an assignment and analyze performance on each question in the assignment.
- From the Manage Grades page, select Assignments > All Assignments.
- For an individual student, select the score for the assignment.
- Choose either the Results or the Item Analysis view.
Results view
This view shows how the student performed on the assignment.
Select Review, Actions > Review, or Actions >Learning Catalytics to view the student's work.
For homework questions with Skill Builder, select Review Skill Builder to see that student's adaptive practice work.
Use the choices in the Actions menu to review details about the assignment, manage the score, or email the student.
Item Analysis view
This view shows how the student performed on each question in the assignment. This view is not available for Learning Catalytics assignments.
For homework assignments where the student used Skill Builder or Help Me Answer This, you see the Skill Builder icon next to its Question ID. Expand the question to view the student's Skill Builder or Help Me Answer This work.
You also can access this view from the Actions list on a student's Results page.
