Customize assignments for individual students

You can customize assignment settings by individual students or by assignment.

- Open the Manage Assignments page for the content area.
- Under Customize in the list of tasks, select Customize Assignment Settings Per Student.
- Select the Student or Assignment tab at the top of the page.
Settings by student
- Select Add Student to choose students who get individual assignment settings. If some students already have individual settings, select Manage Student List to add or remove students.
- Choose the assignment type, module, and topic for the assignments with individual student settings.
- Select Add/Remove Assignments and select the assignments.
- In the table of assignments, specify the settings you want to customize for the selected students and select Update Selected.
To apply a setting to all the assignments, select the setting in the table header.
- Select Save Settings when you have specified all the settings.
Settings by assignment
- Choose the assignment category, module, topic, and assignment.

Optionally select Review Class Assignment Settings to see the current settings for the assignment.
- Select Add/Remove Students and select the students.
- In the table of assignments, specify the settings you want to customize for the selected students and select Update Selected.
To apply a setting to all the assignments, select the setting in the table header.
- Select Save Settings when you have specified all the settings.

- In the Manage Grades page, select the student from the roster to open their Results page.
- Select Settings Per Student from the assignment's Actions list.
- Select Use Individual Student Settings to select the settings for the student.

- You can't customize settings by student in the Reading Level content area or for Learning Catalytics assignments.
- You can't apply individual settings to writing assignments or assignments in institutional courses.
