Grade assignments manually

Open the assignment or activity for grading in one of these ways:
- From the Assignments view of the gradebook, select the Submitted for Instructor Review icon
or the Review link for the assignment.
- On the Manage Grades page, select Work needs grading under Alerts and then select the assignment. (This alert is unavailable for auto-graded assignments.)
- Select a student in the roster and select the Submitted for Instructor Review icon
or the Review link for the assignment.

- Open the activity.
- Optionally select View Suggested Answer.
- Type your comments in the editor. Your comments are blue and underlined to distinguish them from the student's answer.
- Enter a Score.
- Select Final Score if the student does not need to submit another draft.

- Open the activity
- Select a Draft tab to see the instant feedback the student received.
- Select View Your Submission to see the student's work.
- Type your comments in the editor. Your comments are blue and underlined to distinguish them from the student's answer.
- Optionally change the score:
1 = 50%
2 = 60%
3 = 70%
4 = 80%
5 = 90%
6 = 100%
If you mark the score as final, the student can't submit any more drafts for instant feedback or for instructor review.

You review and grade drafts of writing assignments within the Writing Solutions application.
Grades and feedback are returned to the MyLab course and students view your feedback from the MyWriting tab on their Course Home and Results pages. If your MyLab includes Personalized Review Plans, students also see a link to their plans.

- Open the assignment.
- Optionally view the sample answer.
- Enter the grade.
If the grade is less than the total point value, the student is given partial credit. If the grade is zero, the answer is incorrect.
- Optionally select Get More Help > Add Comment to include a comment for the student.
- Navigate to the next or previous student to continue.

- Optionally comment on the answer using the tools at the top of the Show Work window.
