Graph parabolas

You can plot vertical or horizontal parabolas using the grapher.

- Click or tap inside the graph to access graphing tools.
- Select the vertical/horizontal parabola tool.
- Click or tap in the graph to locate the parabola vertex.
- Move to the correct point on your parabola.
- Click or tap to graph the point.
Your completed parabola appears and is selected.
You can add more than one parabola to your graph.

Use the selection tool to select the parabola line or a point:
- When a line is selected, the points are blue and the parabola line is orange.
- When a point is selected, it changes to a blue bulls-eye/double circle.

To move a selected parabola, either
- Drag the selected parabola to a new position.
- Press Shift plus an arrow key to move the selected parabola up, down, left, or right.
To change a selected point, either:
- Drag the point to a new position.
- Press Shift plus an arrow key to move a selected point.
- If your instructor allows, select Edit Coordinates and enter the new coordinates.
To remove a selected parabola, press Delete on your keyboard or select Delete in the tool palette.
