Review a SourceCheck report

When you submit a student's composition or collaboration submission to SourceCheck for an originality check, the resulting report shows:

You can then check whether the student cited any matching content.

The turnaround time from submission to report is typically 24 hours. But you can check to see if the report is completed whenever and as often as you like. You can review a SourceCheck report from the composing space if you have not yet submitted the assignment to the student. Once you submit the assignment, you can open its draft history to display the report.

Students have access only to the reports for any documents they submitted to SourceCheck. Students do not have access to any reports that you receive from SourceCheck.

To open and review a SourceCheck report:

  1. Open the student's composition or collaboration assignment in the composing space.
  2. Click Check Sources under Writing and Research in the Toolkit.

The Submission History is displayed. When a submission's (draft's) report is ready, the Reports column displays the View Report link.

  1. Click a View Report link to display its report.

The SourceCheck review has two parts: Sourcelist and Report.

The Sourcelist shows the Total score, which is the total percentage of content for which SourceCheck found similar content. The Sourcelist also displays the percentages of content for which it found similar content and the website address of the found content.

The Report shows the content that you submitted. For any content that SourceCheck found the same or similar content, the report shows the original text in the Submitted column and the similar text in the Found column.

  1. (Optional) Click the Print button to print the report.
