Edit an image in the text editor

1. Do one of the following:
   • Right-click the image and select Insert/edit image.
   • Click the image to select it. Then click the Insert/edit image icon, .
2. (Optional) Update the information on the General tab as needed. (Use this tab only if you need to update a link to an image on another website.)

   Click this link to display descriptions of the General options.

   Image URL: Update the URL to create a link to a different image and website.

   Image description: Enter the image's alternative text. (The alternative text is displayed when the image cannot be displayed, and screen readers read an image's alternative text.)

   Title: Enter the text that will display in a pop-up when you point to the image. If you do not enter a title, the Image description is displayed instead.

3. (Optional) Click the Appearance tab and change the settings as needed.

   Click this link to display descriptions of the Appearance settings.

   Alignment: Select an option from the drop-down list to specify the alignment of the image with the surrounding text.

   Dimensions: Enter a height and/or width dimension for the image in pixels.

   Vertical space: Enter the amount of space, in pixels, you want between the top and bottom of the image and any text or other images above and below the image.

   Horizontal space: Enter the amount of space, in pixels, you want between the left and right side of the image and any text or other images to either side of the image.

   Border: Add a border to the image by entering a border width in pixels. You can change the border color in the Style setting, below.

   Class: The composing space does not support the Class setting at this time.

   Style: Displays the code for the specified options. You can edit the Style. For example, if the Style's border setting is "border: black 3px solid," you can change it to "border: red 3px solid" to create a red border.

   Note: The composing space does not support the settings on the Advanced tab at this time.

4. Click the Update button to save your changes.

You can select text or an image and create a link to another website.

1. Do one of the following:
   • Right-click the image and select Insert/edit link.
   • Click the image to select it. Then click the Insert/edit link icon, .
   • Select the text. Then click the Insert/edit link icon,
2. Complete the following entries:

   Link URL: Enter the full address of the website you are linking to (e.g., http://www.pearsonhighered.com).

   Anchors: The composing space does not support the Anchors setting at this time.

   Target: Select one of the following:

   Open in this frame/window: This option opens the link target in the same window as your document.

   Open in new window (_blank): This opens the link target in a separate window.

   Note: The remaining two options behave the same as Open in this frame/window.

   Title: Enter the text that the document will display in a pop-up when you or another user places the mouse pointer over the link.

3. Click the Insert button to create the link.
4. Point to the Files button and select Print Preview so you can test the link.

One of the ways to insert an image into a document is to create a link to the image. You can use this procedure to remove that link and keep the image in the document. You can also use this procedure to remove any link that you created in the document.

   • Right-click the image or text link and select Unlink.
   • Click the image or select the text link and click the Unlink icon, .
