View payment types (LMS customers only)

Your institution or school might use a learning management system (LMS) with a partner such as VitalSource, RedShelf LINK, or Barnes & Noble. In this case, students might opt in to pay the school for access to Pearson materials through your course. If students opt out of institution payment, they pay Pearson instead of the school with an access code, credit card, or, if available, PayPal. Temporary access through Pearson is not available.
One of the following payment types shows in the roster for each registered student. This information can help you identify, for example, why a particular student might not yet have access to your course.
- The school bills the student for access to the course materials.
- By default the student is active and can access the course, but you can change the status to inactive.
- You can promote this student to teaching assistant.
- The student completed payment to Pearson with an access code, credit card, or, if available, PayPal.
- By default the student is active and can access the course, but you can change the status to inactive.
- You can promote this student to teaching assistant.
- The student is inactive and you can't change the status to active. To access the course, the student can pay Pearson or opt back in to pay the school, unless the opt-in period has expired.
- The instructor can't promote an inactive student to teaching assistant.
These payments types also show in the CSV file if you export the roster.
