Work Through a Reading-Skill Topic

Use this procedure to open and complete the Review Materials and Activities for a Reading-Skill topic.

  1. Click the Study Plan tab.
  2. If necessary, click the Reading Skills tab.
  3. Click the Topic you want to work on.

    You can work with the topics in any order that you want. Check with your instructor, however, to see if the topics are arranged in a particular order.

    After you click a topic link, the MyLab displays the topic's Review Materials and Activities. Your instructor determines which Activities are required, and they are marked with an asterisk (*).

  4. Work through the Review Materials and Activities. as follows:
    1. Under Review Materials, click the Overview link and read the overview.
    2. Under Review Materials, click the Model link and read the model information.
    3. Under Activities, click the Practice link and work through the questions.

      If you are successful with the Practice exercises, proceed to the Test activity. However, you can go back to the Review Materials before going on the to Test activities.

    4. Under Activities, click the Test link and work through the questions.
  5. Review the results of the Practice or Test activity.

    After you complete a Practice or Test set, the MyLab displays your score. If you are not satisfied with your results, you can, in most cases, try a fresh set of questions to improve your grade. Remember to use all available resources, including your text and class notes.

    All your grades are also available through the Gradebook.
