Getting Started with Student Action Visualization
Updated 19 Feb 2024
Student Action Visualization allows you to view playback of student interactions with MyLab IT Office 2019 for simulated training and exam activities. Visualization is the next-generation enhancement of the View Student Actions feature available on the View Submissions page. It not only displays student actions in text form, but also plays back the actual student actions performed while taking the assignment.
For the best experience of Student Action Visualization, you need a screen resolution of at least 1024x768. Refer to System requirements for the browser and operating system requirements.
Playing, Pausing, and Replaying Actions
Playback of student action automatically starts when you launch the application. Use these buttons to control the playback:
- Pause - To temporarily stop playback.
- Play - To resume a paused playback.
- Replay - To start playback from the beginning.
Controlling Playback Speed
You can control the speed at which the visualization is played with the buttons at the bottom right corner of the application window.
The Button ... | Sets the playback speed to ... |
---|---|
0.5x |
one half of the current speed. |
1x |
normal speed. |
2x |
twice the normal speed. |
4x | four times the normal speed. |
Understanding the Playback Time Line
At the bottom of the visualization is a time line representation of student actions, showing important milestones during the task attempt. The progress of the playback is indicated by the blue moving circle. The light blue circles with Step labels denote the relative time when that step was launched. The red or gray markers correspond to each student action in the time line; red markers indicate incorrect or incomplete action and gray markers indicate other types of action.
Specific tasks you can complete are described in the following topics.
