Set LMS Toolbar preferences

Use the Preferences > LMS Toolbar page to define the order of toolbar navigation for instructors and students. This feature is useful for limiting or expanding the pages that are available in your course.
- Click Today's View or Course Materials > Add From Library or Course Materials > Manage Course Materials.
- Click the preferences icon .
- Close the Basic Preferences dialog box that appears.
- Click LMS Toolbar in the Instructor column.
Select LMS Toolbar options
You must make the following selections for each tool in both the Instructor Tools and Student tools sections:
- Enable: Select the navigation and sub-navigation pages you want to display to instructors and students.
- Default View: In the Default View column on the far right, select the page that instructors and students see when they open the course. This default view is also called the course landing page. You can also set the Default View of each sub-page. This is the page that appears when users click to open the main page. For example, to have the Custom View page appear when users click Gradebook, set Custom View as the Default View in the Gradebook section.
- Toolbar Order: This option controls the position of each page on the navigation bar. To set the order for each page, select the appropriate number from the list. The order is set from left to right. You can also set the order of available sub-pages.
Instructor Tools
Use this section to select the pages available to instructors, set the default page when the instructor opens the course, and set the order the tools appear on the navigation bar.
Instructor tools include:
- Today's View (not used in MyLab IT)
- MyTest (MyLab Languages only)

- Manage Course Materials
- Media Library: You can change the term "Media Library" by typing a new name of up to 150 alphanumeric characters in the text box. The new name replaces the term "Media Library," which appears in the sub-navigation of the Course Materials page.

Student Tools
Use this section to select the pages available to students, set the default page when the student opens the course, and set the order the pages appear on the navigation bar.
- Display all tools in a single row (available only for student tools): Select to display all available pages on the main navigation row for students.
- Icons: Select On to display icons on the main navigation row. Select Off to display only the page names with no icons.

Assignments
- To Do: This page is enabled if you select Enable To Do list on the Preferences > Activities page.
