Assign Microsoft Office simulations

Updated 19 Feb 2024

With MyLab IT simulations, you can train and assess your students on Microsoft® Office 2013, 2016, and 2019 products using content that matches your textbook.

Simulations can be either:

  • Skills-based: Lets students complete questions in any order and move from one question to another and back, provided they have question attempts remaining.
  • Project-based: Requires students to complete questions in a specific order that mirrors the steps required to create a document or project. The outcome of one question forms the starting point for the next.

You can assign three types of simulation activities:

  • Training: This activity matches the student textbook and offers tutorial help to the students.
  • Study plan: Students take two or three of the following: a pre-test, training based on the questions they answered incorrectly on the pre-test, and a post-test for final evaluation.
  • Exam: There are two scenarios available for each exam to allow for multiple assessment options.

MyLab IT automatically grades the student’s simulations and records the results in the gradebook.
