Modify tests

There are several options to help customize your test. You can:
- Copy tests
- Rename tests
- Change the question and answer order
- Add questions
- Delete questions or question groups
- Edit questions
- Delete tests
Copy tests
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test you want to copy.
- Select Save a copy as from the test options menu.
A new test with the same name appears at the bottom of Manage Your Tests list. Use the Created Date or Modified Date columns to find your test copy. You can then rename one of the tests.
You can also copy an open test by clicking Save > Save a copy as. Enter a Name for the copied test, select another Activity Type if you want, and click Save.
Rename tests
You do not have to open a test to rename it.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, locate the test you want to rename.
- Select Rename as from the test options menu.
- Enter a new Name.
- Click Save and Close.
To create a copy of an open test, select Save > Save a copy as. Enter a new Name, select another Activity Type if you want, and click Save and Close.
Change the question and answer order
If you plan to reuse an existing test, you may want to change the order of the questions and answer choices on the test. You can:
- Use the scramble menu to have the application automatically reorder questions and answer choices.
- Manually drag questions to a new location.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test in which you want to scramble question order.
- Click Scramble and choose:
- All questions: Change the order of questions on the test.
- All questions and answer choices: Change both the order of the questions on the test and the order of the answer choices for all multiple response and multiple choice questions. This option does not appear if answer choices were pinned in a specific order when the question was created.
- Click Save > Save.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test in which you want to reorder questions.
- Position your cursor over the question you want to move and make sure your cursor changes to a hand.
- Click the question and the drag it to another location in the test.
You can also manually reorder answer choices for true/false, multiple choice, and multiple response questions using the same drag and drop method. You can reorder answer choices only for a single question; you cannot drag answer choices to another question.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test in which you want to scramble answer choices.
- Location the question for which you want to scramble answers.
- From the question option menu, click Scramble Within the Group. This option is available only for multiple response and multiple choice questions. This option does not appear if answer choices were pinned in a specific order when the question was created.
Add test questions
A test can include up to 500 questions.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test in which you want to add questions.
- Browse the testbank on the left to view questions.
- Add questions to the test.
Added questions appear at the end of the test. You can move the added questions to another location at any time.
Edit test questions
You can change any question on a test.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test in which you want to edit questions.
- Locate the question you want to edit.
- From the question options menu, click Edit.
- Make your changes in the question editor. The changes you can make depend on the type of question you are editing. For more details, see topics on creating and editing essay questions, fill-in the blanks questions, matching questions, multiple choice questions, multiple response questions, and true/false questions.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test that includes questions or question group you want to copy.
- Location the question or question group you want to copy.
- From the question or question group option menu, click Copy.
- Click OK to confirm you want to create a duplicate test question or group. You can then edit the duplicate question or group.
- Scroll to the bottom of the test and edit the duplicate question or group.
Delete test questions
- Go to the MyTest page.
- In the Manage Your Tests list, click the test in which you want to delete questions or question groups.
- Location the question or group you want to delete.
- From the question options menu, click Delete and then click OK to confirm the deletion. The question or group is removed from the test, but still appears in the testbank.
Delete tests
You do not have to open a test to delete it. After you delete a test, you cannot to access it again. Test questions, however, still appear in the testbank.
- Go to the MyTest page.
- Locate the test you want to delete in the Manage Your Tests list.
- Select Delete from the test options menu.
- Click OK to confirm you want to delete the test.
