Enter constants

When you define constraints in the Edit Algorithmic Values window, you can specify constants, such as the infinity symbol. Constants are not available for all courses.

You enter constants either by selecting the constant from the menu or by entering the code for the symbol.

To enter a constant using the menu:

  1. Click inside the Constraint Value area where you want to insert the constant, and then right-click.
  2. From the menu, select Editing Options > Constants to choose the constant from a list.

The code for the constant (such as, &inf; for the infinity symbol) displays in the Constraint Value area, but the constant symbol (such as, ) displays in the question when students view it.

You can enter the code for a constant directly in the Constraint Value area. The codes for constants are:
