Work with algorithmic values
Updated 28 Aug 2023
Algorithmic values are variables that you can define to perform calculations or insert random numbers in your questions. When you include algorithmic values in a question, the values change each time a student accesses the question.
You can take two approaches to creating algorithmic questions:
- You can design your algorithms offline and then enter your algorithmic values as you create your question.
- You can create a static question first, design your algorithms offline, enter the algorithms, and then convert your static values to algorithmic values.
See Create and edit algorithmic values for information on creating algorithmic values.
Examples — Create algorithmic values
- Use algorithmic values in a math question
- Use algorithmic values in an econ question
- Use algorithmic values in an accounting question
- Use algorithmic values in an operations management question
You also can convert algorithmic questions to static.
