Plot functions

On the Plots tab of the Edit Graph window, you can plot functions to add to a graph created in the Custom Question Builder.

To plot a function:

  1. Click Add on the Plots tab and select Function from the dropdown list.

    A function label displays in the box at the top of the window. The function f is described in terms of its graph, which consists of all points (x, y) in the plane such that y=f(x).

  2. Edit the function using the options below.

f(x)= - Enter a function in terms of x in the box below the window. Right-click and choose Editing Options to insert a predefined algorithmic value or math function or you can type in these values and functions directly. You can also create new algorithmic values.

Color - Click the color code box to display the color chart, and then select the color for your plot line by clicking a box or by entering a color code in the box.

Style - From the dropdown list, select a line style for your plot line.

x-Limits - Use the options in this section to set the domain for x:

  • Use Graph Limits - Select this option to use the same limits as the graph size.
  • Custom - Select this option to enter your own maximum and minimum values for x. Right-click and choose Editing Options to insert predefined algorithmic values or math functions, or you can type in these values and functions directly. You can also create new algorithmic values.
