Add announcement

Add an announcement and choose how to display it on the student home page.

Posting Date - Enter a date to either:

  • Display on this date - The date the announcement is posted for students.
  • Display on alternate date - The date the announcement shows on the students' calendar. For example, to announce ten days in advance that your class will be canceled on December 25th, enter 12/15/2015 in the Display on this date box. Enter 12/25/2015 in the Display on alternate date box to post the announcement on the calendar for December 25th. If you select a future date, the announcement shows at 12:00am on that day.

Remove Date - Optionally enter a date. The announcement is automatically removed at midnight on that day.

Display only for - If your course uses student tagging, optionally send the announcement only to students with a selected tag.

Title and Body - Enter your announcement title and body text. Use the tools to create hyperlinks, format text, or enter special symbols (Omega icon). Note: If you copy and paste formatted text from software such as Microsoft Word, hidden codes are inserted into your announcement and might exceed to maximum allowed length. If you get an error, first save your announcement as a text file.

Save and Email Announcement - Select to post your announcement and email it to all active students.
