Grade MediaShare assignments

Updated 30 Jan 2024

When MediaShare assignments are ready for manual grading, you see Work needs grading under Alerts in your Gradebook.

To grade a MediaShare assignment:

  1. Select Work needs grading in your Gradebook to go to the Alerts page.

You also can select the red exclamation mark shown for the assignment in your Gradebook.

  2. Select the name of the assignment.

MediaShare opens and displays the assignment details page, with a list of students whose work needs grading, as well as a count of the total students, the number of students who submitted the assignment, and the number of students who have not yet submitted the assignment.

  3. Below the assignment is a list of comments entered by the students, if you set up the assignment to allow comments. The posts show the name of the student who posted the comment, as well as the time they posted. You can enter a comment, as well, in the Comment box and select Post. Students can review the posts by going to their Results page and selecting the assignment.
  4. Select a student to grade their work. Enter an Assignment score and select Save grade. Optionally, enter feedback in the Comment box, and select Save. Select Release grade.
  5. If other students have completed the assignment, use navigation arrows to go to the next student's work.
