MediaShare assignments
If available in your course, create a MediaShare assignment—an assignment containing a video, YouTube clip, video quiz, or image that students can view, comment on, and assess. Students can also upload their own media content, comment on other students' uploaded content, and contribute to group work.
- Open the Assignment Manager.
- Choose whether to create or copy the assignment:
- To create a new assignment, choose Create MediaShare assignment from the Create menu.
- To copy an existing assignment, locate the MediaShare assignment in the assignments list and choose Copy from the 3-dot Options menu.
- On step 1, the Start tab, enter a name for the assignment.
- Select Next.
- On step 2, the Create MediaShare Assignment tab, choose the type of media assignment to create. Learn how to create:
When students select a MediaShare assignment, the MediaShare tool opens in a new window. Students must enable cookie settings to watch videos.
For a video quiz, students watch the video and answer the multiple choice questions.
For a multimedia assignment, students view the media items and enter comments, if your assignment allows comments. Depending on the options you select, students can upload media, edit peer work, or work in groups to create media.
Some features are not supported for MediaShare assignments:
- MediaShare assignments are available only for Homework and not for Quizzes or Tests.
- You cannot edit MediaShare assignments using the Change Settings for Multiple Assignments page or the Change Due Dates & Assign Status page.
- You cannot use the Individual Student Settings page to change due dates.
