Use alerts
Alerts automatically post in your gradebook to warn you about inactive students and work that needs manual grading.

- Select a type of alert under Alerts on the opening page of your gradebook.
- On the Alerts page, optionally select Update to get the latest data. This link displays only when at least 24 hours have passed since your last update.
- Optionally select View archived alerts to view older reports.
- In the filter, select the type of alert to view.

The Inactivity table lists all students who have not worked in your course for at least five days. You can:
- Select one or more students and choose Email selected students.
- Select Actions > Email student to send a message to an individual student.
- Select a student's name to see the student's Results page.
- Select Actions > Archive to remove but save the alert.

The Work needs grading table lists all the assignments with work that you need to grade manually.
- Select the name of an assignment to see the work for the first student.
A separate window opens for you to grade the assignment.
- For each manually graded question in the assignment, enter a score in the Grade box at the bottom of the player window.
- Select Next Student at the top of the player window.
- Optionally select Email Student to send a message to the student.
- Select Close when you finish.
