Use AI Instructor Tools

AI Instructor Tools lets you have an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot session to create new assignments. Use the chatbot to find recommended items for your homework, tests, or quizzes.

AI Instructor Tools is available in select MyLab titles as a Beta release.

  1. In the chatbot Search field, type your request to find items for your assignment. For example: equations, chapter 5, or section 5.3.

  2. Select Find. The chatbot shows results.

  3. Use the check boxes to select or clear items for your assignment.
  4. Optionally, use the edit icon next to your original search entry to change your selections. Or, use Filters to enhance your results.
  5. Select Next. The chatbot refreshes your results.

  6. Select Preview to open the assignment and see the questions with correct answers. Optionally, select Student View to work questions as a student.

  7. Use the delete icon to remove items from the assignment.
  8. Use to go to the next or previous question.
  9. Select Save items and continue to save the items. The chatbot reopens.
  10. Select Save and close to move to step 2 of the assignment creation wizard.

Item filters

You have the option to use filters to refine and enhance the recommended items for your assignment.

  • Use Number of items to limit the number of questions in the assignment. The default is 10 items.
  • Use Difficulty to assign difficulty levels to the questions.
  • Use Duration to identify the total time it should take to complete the assignment.
