Use Study Plan prerequisites

When you create a test or quiz:

1. On step 1, the Start tab, of the assignment wizard, select Assign a companion Study Plan as a prerequisite for this test.

   Step 4 is added to the wizard so you can customize the Study Plan coverage and mastery requirements.

2. For Included objectives, select the plus sign to open the list and select a section or objective to include it in the companion Study Plan.
3. For Minimum mastery points required, optionally edit the number of mastery points required to satisfy the prerequisite.

When students open a companion Study Plan:

1. They see the Prerequisites page with the sections or objectives they need to practice for the assignment. They also see the number of mastery points needed to satisfy the prerequisite.

   This view replaces the standard Recommendations page.

2. They select Practice to work on the required section or objective or select the video icon to view media.
3. When students have practiced successfully, they select Quiz Me to prove mastery.

   When they succeed on a Quiz Me, its section or objective is removed from the Prerequisites page.

4. When they have earned the required number of mastery points, they can take the test or quiz.

Students can take the test or quiz without doing the companion Study Plan when they have already mastered the material by working separately in the Study Plan.

Students must redo the companion Study Plan if they succeed on the companion Study Plan but then are unsuccessful in other work affecting mastery of the material.

1. Assign a companion Study Plan for the test or quiz.
2. In the Assignment Manager, select Manage > Set prerequisites.
3. On the advanced tab, locate the assignment in the list.
4. Choose which attempt triggers the prerequisite.

   The list of attempts does not appear when you do not allow multiple attempts.

1. Open the Assignment Manager.
2. Locate the assignment and select Edit from the Actions or Options menu.
3. Make your changes on step 4 of the assignment wizard.
