Import or export results
Updated 20 May 2024
You can import student results when a student transfers into your program from a program using the same testbank. Set up automatic import to transfer results when a student enrolls or use manual import to transfer results for individual students and students who have already enrolled.
See Generate quick gradebook exports or Generate advanced gradebook exports for details on exporting reports on student results.
You can export test results into a CSV file to use in spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel. If needed, you can choose the delimiter - the character that separates different entries in tabular data:
- A comma for English-language applications.
- A semicolon for some applications in other languages.
If you are exporting information that is not in English, Excel might display non-English characters incorrectly. To work around this problem:
- Change the filename extension from
csv
to.txt
. - Open Excel, browse to the renamed file, and use File > Open to open it.
- In step 3 of the Text Import Wizard, choose Text under "Column data format."
- Click Finish to import the file with non-English characters correctly displayed.
