Use program groups

Updated 23 Sep 2022

A program group lets you manage several sections of the same program.

A program group contains:

  • A coordinator program — The master program used as the template for all the programs in the program group. Students should not be enrolled in coordinator programs.
  • Member programs — Copies of the coordinator program that are linked to the coordinator and are used to teach each section in the program group. Students are enrolled in the member programs.

To manage all the members in a program group, the owner of the coordinator program edits the coordinator program. Changes made to the coordinator program are automatically inherited by its member programs and override customizations in member programs. Changes made to a member program do not affect other programs in the group.

You can specify how much control section instructors have over their member programs. See Roles in program groups for details on how roles function in program groups.
