Resume or retake an incomplete test

1. Go to the Tests page. The word "incomplete" displays next to your interrupted test.
2. Select the test link to continue taking the test. All your answers so far are still there.

   If you are allowed to take the test more than once, you can start the test over again. Select Start a new test to take a new version of the test and have it count as a test attempt.

   If you are not allowed into the test, you see a window saying that you need permission to retake the test. In this case, ask your instructor to let you back in to the test. If you get permission, "retake allowed" displays in next to the test on the Tests page.

3. Select Submit when you finish.

1. Go to the Tests page. The word "incomplete" displays in the Attempts column for the test.
2. Select the link for the incomplete test. The Restricted Access Incomplete Test message box displays.

   If you are not allowed to try again, the message tells you to ask your instructor for permission to continue taking the incomplete test.

   If the test allows multiple attempts and you have at least one attempt remaining, the message offers you the additional option to start a new test without permission. Select Start a new test if you want to take a new version of the test and have it count as a new test attempt.

3. To continue with the incomplete test, contact your instructor. If your instructor allows you back in to the test, the words "retake allowed" display in the Attempts column for the test on the Tests page.
4. Select the test link to continue taking the test. All your answers to date are still there.
5. Select Submit Test when you finish.

If your instructor allows it, you can leave a test before you finish it and then resume later. In this case, you see Save for Later at the bottom of the player. To save a test for later:

1. Begin working on the test, as usual. You can navigate back and forth among the questions.
2. When you are ready to leave the test, select Save for Later.
3. To resume the test, go to the Homework and Tests page. The word "incomplete" displays in the Attempts column for the test.
4. Select the link for the incomplete test and open it in the student player.
5. Complete the test or do some more questions and save the remainder for later.

After you save a test for later, you cannot access any questions that you answered in your earlier sessions.
