Take assigned tests
Updated 20 May 2024
To take an assigned test:
- Select the name of a test in the Announcements page or go to the Tests page.
- Read the information on the "Are you ready to start?" page.
If a flag icon shows next to the due date, then you must do a prerequisite test before you can take this test. Move your mouse pointer over the flag to see information about the prerequisite.
If the test or quiz requires the Pearson LockDown Browser, you see a warning and a Check Your Browser button. See Taking locked-down tests for more information.
If you see a red warning icon and Late Submission Penalty at the top of the page, you lose points for handing in the test late. If the test is not late, you see how your score is affected by late submission. If you handed in the test late, you see how many points you lost.
- Select Start Test to
begin taking the test. If you're not sure how
to answer questions in the student player, select the view a tutorial link to see a video tour on how to enter answers in math questions.
If your instructor has enabled proctoring for the test, the proctoring application opens. You might need to follow instructions to install the application. See Take proctored tests for details on proctoring.
- If your test is set up as a series of tests, and you have met the prerequisite for the next test in the series, you see the "Are you ready to continue?" page after you submit a test. Select Continue to go on to the next test.
If you are allowed more than one attempt when taking a grouped series of tests, you start your additional attempts with the last test for which you met the prerequisite.
See Answer questions for more information on how to answer questions on your test. While you are taking a test, you also can select the settings icon and choose Help center to get help on using the player.
