Work in assignments

How you open assignments depends on your course. You’ll answer most questions in the student player. It checks answers and sends the results to your gradebook. Some assignments might use a different app that you use outside of the student player.
Using an LMS? You might have a direct link to your assignments from your learning management system if your course is delivered in Blackboard, Canvas, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Sakai, or Schoology.
- On the Homework and Tests page, select an assignment. The overview page opens.
- For homework assignments, select Get started.
For quizzes and tests, select Start Test.As you work on assignments, the gradebook updates so that you always know your current score.
You can return and continue working up to the due date or until you run out of attempts.
If you leave an assigned test or quiz without selecting Submit, it's incomplete. You might need your instructor's permission to resume.
Under Attempts, see how many times you can try the assignment. An infinity symbol () means you have an unlimited number of attempts.
- On the Homework and Tests page, select an assignment. The overview page opens.
- For homework assignments, select Resume.
For quizzes and tests, select Finish the Test.
If the assignment is not yet due, you can work on it. Otherwise, you can review the assignment after the due date. Select a completed assignment to review it in the student player.
After you finish an assignment, select see score to see your grade.
- An asterisk (*) means your instructor manually changed your score.
- incomplete means you began a test or quiz but didn't submit it.
- Dashes (--) mean your instructor hasn't graded the assignment. For example, when the assignment includes an essay question.
