Quick start: Live Response student

In Live Response, you answer questions during a live in-class session. Your instructor monitors responses to determine where you or others might need help.

Using an LMS? Start your course from your learning management system if you work in Blackboard, Canvas, D2L Brightspace, Moodle, Sakai, or Schoology.

First steps

Create a student account

Register and enroll as a student to sign in to Pearson products. Use the same account for any Pearson course.

Your instructor provides registration instructions. The instructions have a course invite link and a course ID or program ID to register for your course.

Join your live session

  1. Sign in to your course.
  2. When Live Response opens, select the Sessions tab.
  3. Enter the join code provided by your instructor.
  4. Select Join.
    Your instructor tracks your attendance one of the following ways:
    • By sign in — Live Response tracks attendance when you enter the join code.
    • With geofencing — Live Response sets a geofence around your classroom. It tracks attendance by checking your location when you enter the session code. Learn how to share your location for attendance.
  5. Wait for your instructor to start the session.

Use any computer or mobile device

You can use Live Response on your laptop, desktop, or any mobile device. It's best practice to use the latest version of Safari, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge.

Respond to questions

After you join a live session, wait for your instructor to send the first question or group of questions.

Respond to the question and select Submit to display the next question.

Review your results

You can view your responses from past sessions.

  1. After your instructor ends a session, select the Reports tab.
  2. The Reports page opens and show past session reports.
